Pistol River Windsurfing and Kiteboarding
Pistol River hosts the American Windsurfing Tour: Pistol River Wave Bash. This event is usually in the month of June. Check the website for more information.
Pistol River, south of Gold Beach, is home to world class windsurfing and kite boarding - the season opens early spring and runs through the summer months. As a spectator it is amazing to see these athletes on the waves from the shoreline. Even though there are natural wind breaks, go prepared for wind (scarves, sunglasses and jackets).
